Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Amado Hood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ruben Pena!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pena shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hood's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Pena throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Hood has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pena can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hood escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pena gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pena gets to his feet. Hood looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Pena moves into the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pena tries to pull guard but Hood holds him up against the cage and eventually Pena drops back down to his feet.
Pena breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pena looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hood is fending him off so far but Pena persists. Nope, Hood circles away and we're back to standing.
Pena clinches with his opponent.
Hood controlling the action here for a moment.

Hood breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hood takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Hood closes the distance and clinches up with Pena, looking for a takedown. Hood pushes Pena against the cage but Pena circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hood really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Pena gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hood tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Pena's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Pena tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pena closes the distance and clinches.

A frustrated look appears on Pena's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Pena feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Pena wants to get up but he can't break Hood's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Hood wants to stand but Pena is controlling the position.
Hood escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pena gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Pena stops Hood from getting back to his feet.
Hood wants to improve his position but Pena is controlling well.
Hood manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Pena keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Hood is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Pena to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Amado Hood. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pena wants to break the clinch but can't.
Pena wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hood has him pressed against the cage.
Pena tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Pena might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hood haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Hood drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hood jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Pena is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Hood is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pena gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hood counters with a stiff right hand.
Pena tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Hood counters by clinching up.
Pena turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Pena manages to end up in side control.

Hood is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Pena is controlling him well.

Pena wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hood keeps working.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pena wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hood keeps working.
Ruben Pena has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hood wants to get back to his feet but Pena drags him back down.

Pena decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Pena darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Pena is pressing down on Hood's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hood is holding on for now.

Pena seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hood does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pena is keen to just control but Hood is a slippery customer.

Ruben Pena showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Pena has picked Hood up - he's going for a ride! Pena dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Pena tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Hood.
Hood pushes Pena off looking to stand but Pena dives back in and keeps control.

Hood slaps away a takedown attempt from Pena, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Amado Hood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ruben Pena.

Hood is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pena is just riding it out for now. Hood eventually gives up the hold.

Pena tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Hood manages to move to mount!
Hood wants to finish this one by submission but Pena is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hood.

Pena really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hood. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pena tries to hold on but Hood postures up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pena can do anything to dispel that myth.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pena defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hood.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Amado Hood.
I think Pena has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
