Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jewel Graves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jewel Graves had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jewel Graves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen Henderson!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Phil Schofield and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henderson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Graves connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Henderson dives in and grabs Graves's left leg, looking for a takedown. Graves pushes down on Henderson's head and hops out.

Graves has a closed guard, preventing Henderson from standing up.
Henderson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Graves could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Henderson is pulling down on Graves's head. It's preventing any offense from Graves, at least for the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Henderson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Stephen Henderson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Henderson throws a sloppy head kick and Graves moves out of range easily.

Henderson closes the distance and clinches up with Graves, looking for a takedown. Henderson pushes Graves against the cage but Graves circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Graves counters with a three punch combo that has Henderson backing up. Henderson nods at Graves to acknowledge the strikes.

Graves throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Henderson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Graves is in Henderson's guard.

Graves is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Henderson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Henderson has escaped and now he's on top!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Graves accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Henderson wants to control but Graves passes easily into half guard.

Graves is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Henderson still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Henderson has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Henderson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Henderson wants to stand but Graves has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.

Graves has momentary wrist control but Henderson slips an elbow through the middle.

Henderson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Graves doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Henderson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Graves manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Henderson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Graves looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Graves's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Henderson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Graves keeps working.
Graves is looking to regain half guard here but Henderson keeps moving and retains side control.

Henderson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Graves is keeping the position for now.

Graves makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Graves.
Henderson wants to get up but he can't break Graves's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Henderson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Graves defends well.

Henderson controls Graves momentarily but Graves frees himself.
Graves wants to stand but Henderson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Graves drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Graves jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Henderson holds on and takes a little breather.
Henderson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jewel Graves has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stephen Henderson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

I would just about give that final round to Stephen Henderson.
Well Henderson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
