Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 2, fighting out of New York, Reggie Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chase Utley!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson blocks a jab.
Utley lands with a shot to the body.
Anderson throws a leg kick which misses Utley's front leg but catches the back leg as Utley tries to avoid it.
Anderson lands a lovely overhand right.
Anderson lands a nice hook to Utley's body. Utley takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Utley throws a shot from downtown. Anderson moves away and avoids it.
Utley walks forward, straight into a front kick from Anderson.
Anderson shoots in for a takedown but Utley shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Utley lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Anderson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
The fighters circle momentarily. Utley darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nice shot lands for Utley.
Utley blocks a low kick nicely.
Anderson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Anderson scores with a head kick. Utley tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Anderson gets the takedown into side control.
Utley is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Utley pushes Anderson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Anderson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Utley felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
You can see the frustration on Utley's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Anderson trying to control the action but Utley is working from the bottom.
Utley is trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Anderson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Anderson tries for a kimura but Utley is defending well.

Anderson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Anderson has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Utley!
Utley is trying to escape the mount.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Utley is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Anderson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Utley looks a forlorn figure.
Anderson looking to ground and pound but Utley is blocking nicely.
Utley is bucking up trying to escape but Anderson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Anderson in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Anderson lands a big elbow.


Utley is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Anderson connects with a bit shot that sees Utley covering up! More strikes from Anderson and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Anderson is our winner by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Reggie Anderson!
Our winner, Reggie Anderson, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
