Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Staal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murphy comes to the cage accompanied by Róisín Murphy - Pandora. Staal comes into a darkened arena with his song building. 2Pac - Ghetto Star (feat. Bad Azz) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Brian Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 38 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Staal!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staal throws a nice outside leg kick.
Murphy shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Staal throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've been informed that Staal has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Staal lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Murphy has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Murphy and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

John Staal comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Staal has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
