Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sparky Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohsen Mosaddegh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson comes to the cage accompanied by Blue clear sky. Mohsen Mosaddegh has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Mohsen Mosaddegh!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mosaddegh as he jumps to the side.
Mosaddegh missing with a left hand there. Anderson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Mosaddegh connects with a good right hand that stumbles Anderson. Anderson circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Anderson tries to clinch up.
Mosaddegh cracks Anderson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.


It looks like Sparky Anderson has been cut.
Anderson staying out of range there.
Mohsen Mosaddegh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Anderson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mosaddegh.
Mosaddegh misses with an uppercut

and Anderson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Anderson is working for a kimura but Mosaddegh is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mosaddegh is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Anderson wants to pass to mount but Mosaddegh is defending the position.

Anderson is trying to work for a kimura but Mosaddegh is defending well.

Anderson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Anderson is keen to just control but Mosaddegh is a slippery customer.

Anderson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Anderson tries to pass to full mount but Mosaddegh defends it.
Mosaddegh wants to get back to his feet.

Anderson is looking for a kimura but Mosaddegh is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Anderson to get the leverage.

Anderson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mosaddegh defends it well.
Mosaddegh pushes Anderson off looking to stand but Anderson dives back in and keeps control.
Mosaddegh looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The fighters are battling for position here. Mosaddegh manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Anderson with a flurry of punches that miss.
Anderson trying to control the position from guard on top but Mosaddegh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Anderson looking to sit in guard and control but Mosaddegh gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Anderson is trying to keep Mosaddegh in close.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sparky Anderson.

Oooh a lovely combination from Mosaddegh sends Anderson down but not out. Mosaddegh dives into side control looking to finish.


Anderson is rocked!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
You can see the frustration on Anderson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Mosaddegh in side control, throwing shots but Anderson defends.

Mosaddegh misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Mosaddegh throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Mosaddegh scores with a couple of short elbows.
Anderson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Mosaddegh is holding on to half guard well.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Anderson is trying to control the action in half guard but Mosaddegh is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mohsen Mosaddegh dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Sparky Anderson's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Anderson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Mosaddegh uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Anderson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mosaddegh.
Anderson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mosaddegh swivels and escapes.
Anderson slips a jab and a cross from Mosaddegh.
Mosaddegh stuffs the takedown.
Horrible takedown attempt by Anderson or perhaps it was just good defense by Mosaddegh, which made it look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sparky Anderson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mosaddegh lands a body shot.
Mosaddegh throws a hook to the side of Anderson's head but Anderson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mosaddegh misses with a looping right.
A big left from Mosaddegh misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Anderson.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Mosaddegh knocks Anderson out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Mohsen Mosaddegh!

Mohsen Mosaddegh decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
