Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alexsandr Slemenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Svork Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slemenko's entrance music is Небо Славян. A fine choice. Alexsandr Slemenko has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexsandr Slemenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Svork Silva!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Slemenko.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Slemenko as he jumps to the side.
Silva lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Silva misses with a hook.
Silva fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Alexsandr Slemenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Svork Silva.
Slemenko walks into a straight right hand from Silva.

Silva instigates a clinch.

Silva jumps guard but Slemenko stands there with Silva around his waist. Silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Silva goes for a takedown attempt but Slemenko pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Slemenko uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Silva.
A combination from Silva does no damage.

Silva darts in and clinches Slemenko up against the cage.

Silva misses with a punch on the inside.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Silva obliges.
Slemenko can't break the clinch.
Silva is stalling here.

Silva manages to break the clinch.

Silva clinches.

Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Silva drives through and clinches with Slemenko against the cage.
Silva's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Silva has a couple of punches blocked by Slemenko.

Slemenko looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Silva is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Silva is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Slemenko pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Slemenko tries to break free but Silva pushes him back against the cage.

Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Silva throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
No luck for Silva with that takedown attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Slemenko leaves Silva with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Silva moves into the clinch successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Svork Silva dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Silva dives in for a single leg takedown but Slemenko sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Silva has picked Slemenko up - he's going for a ride! Silva dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Silva thows a huge punch but Slemenko dodges it nicely.
Slemenko makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Slemenko.
Silva throws a big elbow that misses.
Silva in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Slemenko is trying to keep Silva in close.

Silva has gone for a leg lock! Slemenko slips out almost immediately though and dives into Silva's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Slemenko avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Silva has his foot on Slemenko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Slemenko works his way back into a safe position though.
Slemenko wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.

Alexsandr Slemenko has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Silva tries for a takedown but Slemenko sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Silva takes the fight into the clinch.

Silva has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Slemenko is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Silva is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Our spies down at at Red Light MMA inform us that Silva has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Silva looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Slemenko is defending well. Silva quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Slemenko has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Silva celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Svork Silva!
Svork Silva decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
