The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodquivez blocks a head kick by Kothciushco.
Kothciushco has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Rodquivez lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Kothciushco avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Rodquivez scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kothciushco doesn't seem bothered though.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Kothciushco throws a right hand that Rodquivez ducks under and follows up with a left that Rodquivez also avoids with ease.
Rodquivez throws an overhand right that lands on Kothciushco's shoulder, as Kothciushco tries to avoid the shot.
Kothciushco is looking to clinch but Rodquivez is avoiding it.
Rodquivez throws a jab but it's blocked by Kothciushco.

Rodquivez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kothciushco with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rodquivez to score with a decent uppercut.

Rodquivez lands with a nice combination. Kothciushco backs away looking to recover.

and Rodquivez counters with a huge left! Kothciushco is in big trouble! He's backing up but Rodquivez isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Kothciushco from any more damage. A dominating finish by Rodquivez!
