And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Liukkonen.
Liukkonen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Liukkonen wants it to stay on the feet.

Liukkonen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Wheeler tries to roll over but Liukkonen keeps him under control.
Liukkonen throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Wheeler to regain full guard.
Wheeler wants to sweep but no luck.

Liukkonen wants to control from the top but Wheeler keeps moving.

Miika Liukkonen has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wheeler looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Wheeler tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Liukkonen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wheeler swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Liukkonen gets to his feet - Wheeler follows without any prompting.
Liukkonen moves out of range of the leg kick from Wheeler.
Wheeler really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Wheeler feints and then cracks Liukkonen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Liukkonen down.
Liukkonen misses with a hook.
Liukkonen swinging wildly here.
Liukkonen throws the kick towards the body but Wheeler avoids it.
Liukkonen tries to land a front kick but Wheeler steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Liukkonen darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Wheeler is trying to control but can't.
Liukkonen with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Liukkonen wants to stand but Wheeler has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Liukkonen is pressing down on Wheeler's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wheeler is holding on for now.
Wheeler has a hand on Liukkonen's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Liukkonen takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Liukkonen lands with some strikes.
Liukkonen sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Liukkonen wants to control the pace but Wheeler is squirming around nicely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Liukkonen misses with a head shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Liukkonen postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Wheeler badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Liukkonen around the waist but Liukkonen pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Liukkonen is the winner by TKO! Liukkonen jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
