The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gruber feints and as Kontos raises his hands in defense, Gruber changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kontos has his hands on Gruber's head, controlling the position.
Gruber postures up in Kontos's guard and throws a big left but Kontos blocks it.

Kontos throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Gruber closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kontos did well to prevent Gruber getting side control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gruber connects with a nice short shot to Kontos's temple.
