Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lance Brennan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Bjj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lance Brennan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gabriel Bjj!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brennan tries for a takedown but Bjj sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bjj slaps away a takedown attempt from Brennan, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Brennan connects with a nice looking jab.
Brennan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A head kick misses from Brennan.
Brennan shoots for a double leg takedown but Bjj sprawls well. He's pushed Brennan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lance Brennan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Brennan is defended easily by Bjj.
Brennan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Brennan takes the fight into the clinch.
Brennan goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bjj prevents it.

Bjj tightens his grip and picks Brennan up, before dumping him to the ground. Brennan manages to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Brennan controls Bjj momentarily but Bjj frees himself.

Bjj thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Brennan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bjj is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Brennan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bjj postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Brennan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bjj, into his guard.

Bjj pushes a forearm under Brennan's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Brennan is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Gabriel Bjj!
