Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shelton Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Djemal Mehmet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mehmet has chosen Tunak Tunak Tun as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Djemal Mehmet has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Shelton Ramirez's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mehmet gets a double leg takedown into Ramirez's guard.

Ramirez pushes Mehmet off and scrambles back to his feet.

Mehmet gets caught flat footed, as Ramirez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Ramirez tries to stand but Mehmet is controlling from the bottom.
Ramirez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ramirez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mehmet works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Mehmet looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ramirez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mehmet, up you get!

Mehmet clinches with his opponent.

Ramirez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A head kick misses from Ramirez.
Mehmet displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ramirez.
Mehmet throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Mehmet moves into the clinch successfully.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Mehmet.
Ramirez is trying to control Mehmet's posture but Mehmet avoids it.
Mehmet really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ramirez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mehmet is working Ramirez over with some ground and pound from side control.
Ramirez regains half guard there - taking advantage of Mehmet's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Mehmet is looking for a kimura but Ramirez is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mehmet to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Ramirez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ramirez blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mehmet.

Ramirez is staying active underneath Mehmet, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Mehmet is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Ramirez reverses the position - he's now on top in Mehmet's guard.

A close round but Djemal Mehmet will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Mehmet shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Ramirez holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Ramirez regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Mehmet.

Mehmet stands up from Ramirez's guard - Mehmet perhaps looking for a knockout.

Mehmet drives through and clinches with Ramirez against the cage.
Ramirez tries to pull guard but Mehmet won't allow it.
Mehmet is trying to break the clinch but Ramirez is controlling him.
Ramirez tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mehmet avoids it.

Ramirez pulls guard effortlessly.
Mehmet is looking to stand up but Ramirez won't let him.

Ramirez wants to sweep here but Mehmet controlling him for the moment.
Ramirez seems keen to control Mehmet's posture.
Ramirez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mehmet is one step ahead there.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ramirez walks into a straight right hand from Mehmet.
Mehmet misses with a series of wild punches.

Ramirez tries for a takedown but Mehmet circles away easily

and Mehmet counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Ramirez is trying to break the clinch but Mehmet has him pressed against the cage.

Ramirez pulls Mehmet into guard.
Mehmet loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Ramirez trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Mehmet drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ramirez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mehmet has Ramirez in his guard.
Mehmet is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Shelton Ramirez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ramirez postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Ramirez is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Ramirez lands a couple of digs.

Mehmet working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Ramirez has passed into half guard!
Mehmet is breathing heavily.
Ramirez scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Shelton Ramirez will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Mehmet clinches up against the cage.

Mehmet has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ramirez regains guard immediately.

Ramirez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mehmet gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ramirez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mehmet trying to stand up but can't free himself from Ramirez's guard.

Ramirez looking for a guillotine here but Mehmet defends easily.

Ramirez is pulling down on Mehmet's head to control his posture.
Ramirez wants to sweep but no luck.

Mehmet content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Ramirez has locked up a guillotine! Ramirez's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Mehmet is holding on here and Ramirez must be using up a lot of energy. Mehmet has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Ramirez gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
