Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Long Mejia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cem Mehmet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mehmet has chosen Gangsta as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mehmet fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mejia avoids the head kick by Mehmet.
Mehmet looks to throw the jab but Mejia is out of range.

Mehmet swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mehmet closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mejia's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mejia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mehmet doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mehmet manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mejia is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Mehmet is trying to escape back to his feet but Mejia uses the scramble to pass into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mehmet tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Mejia presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Mejia could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Long Mejia will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Mehmet tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Mehmet takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Mehmet misses with a hook. Mejia ducked under it nicely.

Mejia closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mehmet did well to prevent Mejia getting side control.
Mehmet is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mehmet has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mejia is working away from the top position though.
Mejia takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mejia has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Long Mejia wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Mehmet throws a half hearted mid kick.
Mehmet tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mejia misses with a kick to the body.
Mehmet lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

It looks like Long Mejia has been cut.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Mejia manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mejia wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Mejia tries to pull guard but Mehmet holds him up against the cage and eventually Mejia drops back down to his feet.

Mehmet thows a body kick. Mejia tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Mehmet throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Mejia.
Mehmet tries to close the distance and clinch but Mejia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mejia ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Cem Mehmet seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Mejia has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Mehmet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cem Mehmet showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Mejia wants to control but Mehmet is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Mejia escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mehmet gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mejia is trying to control the position but Mehmet postures up.
Mehmet wants to get up but he can't break Mejia's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Mejia is looking for a triangle but Mehmet pushes his legs off easily.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Mehmet. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Mejia closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mejia lands in his opponent's guard.

Mehmet manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Mehmet breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Mejia clinches with his opponent.

Mehmet has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Mejia clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Mejia looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Mehmet is trying to stick to Mejia's back but Mejia is turning into Mehmet. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Mehmet's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Mejia.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Long Mejia.
