The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dark swats away the attempt to clinch by Shall.

Dark throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Shall tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dark is in Shall's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Dark postures up.

Dark is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Dark is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Dark slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Dark tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shall is trying to control Dark's posture but Dark avoids it.

Dark is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shall is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dark tries for a kimura but Shall is defending well.

Dark has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Shall is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Dark yanks on the arm and Shall is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Dark.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jax Dark!
A relieved looking Jax Dark thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
