Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Abe Eaton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frito Lei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Eaton might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Unforgiven by Apocalyptica . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Eaton.
Lei throws a sloppy head kick
and Eaton counters with a big head kick but Lei shrugs it off.
Eaton gets a takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Eaton is looking to advance position but Lei won't allow it.
Eaton throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Eaton perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Lei told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Eaton tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lei knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Lei looks like he's trying to stand up.

Eaton trying to control the action but Lei is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Abe Eaton wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Lei throws a body kick that misses.
Lei tries to work over Eaton's front leg with a kick but Eaton checks it.
Lei swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lei moves into the clinch successfully.
Eaton manages to pull guard.
Eaton is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Lei frees his head nicely. Oh but Eaton has switched to an armbar! Lei is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

After the fight, Abe Eaton was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
