Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clubber Balboa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eagle Loveladdy!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balboa wants to clinch.
Balboa throws a body kick that misses.
We've been told by Balboa's head coaches at Cozad MMA New York that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Balboa moves to clinch but Loveladdy breaks away
and Loveladdy counters with a leg kick.
Balboa shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Loveladdy is trying to defend but Balboa finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Loveladdy is looking to escape.
Loveladdy controlling the position for now.
Loveladdy wants to get back to full guard.
Balboa wants to control but Loveladdy is keeping him busy.
Loveladdy is doing well to control the position and prevent Balboa from advancing to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Clubber Balboa has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Loveladdy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Eagle Loveladdy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Balboa takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Balboa is breathing heavily.
Loveladdy feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Balboa's calf.
Balboa takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
It looks like Clubber Balboa has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters circle, before Loveladdy throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Balboa's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Loveladdy lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
