Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Gomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Parsons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parsons is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Crimson King (Demons & Wizards). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Billy Parsons!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Reed Andrews and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Parsons sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gomas somewhat.
Gomas misses with a takedown attempt - Parsons sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Gomas wants to clinch

and Parsons counters by moving into the clinch.

Parsons pulls guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Parsons can do anything to dispel that myth.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Parsons wants to sweep here but Gomas controlling him for the moment.
Gomas trying to control but Parsons is working from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gomas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Gomas jumps guard but Parsons stands there with Gomas around his waist. Gomas gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Gomas throws a punch but it's blocked by Parsons.

Parsons ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Parsons no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Gomas has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Vincent Gomas.
Parsons changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gomas tries to avoid it but Parsons manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gomas to the ground. Gomas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gomas tries for a takedown but Parsons sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gomas throws a half hearted mid kick.
Gomas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Parsons is fending him off so far but Gomas persists. Nope, Parsons circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Parsons has closed the distance and engaged Gomas in a clinch.
Parsons is pressed up against the cage. Gomas has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Parsons down to the mat. Parsons avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Gomas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Parsons swats him away and circles back towards the center.
