And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ed Ruth!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good standup being displayed there by Ruth as he connects with a hook.


It looks like Money Papers has been cut.

Ruth forces Papers back against the cage and clinches.
A frustrated look appears on Papers's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Papers gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ruth.
Papers looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Ruth scores with a shoulder strike.
Papers holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Papers definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Papers gets underhooks to prevent Ruth's takedown attempt.
Ruth is looking for a takedown.
Money Papers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ed Ruth.
Papers gets underhooks to prevent Ruth's takedown attempt.
Ruth is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Papers pulls him back up using the underhooks.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ruth goes for a takedown attempt but Papers pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ed Ruth seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ruth throws a predictable looking body shot
and Papers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


It looks like Ed Ruth has been cut.
Papers leaves Ruth with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ruth lands a jab to Papers's midsection.
Ruth just misses with a punch to the body.
Ruth shoots in looking for a takedown. Papers tries to sprawl out of it but Ruth keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Papers manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Ruth fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Papers avoids it really well and circles away.
Papers avoids the body shot from Ruth.

Ruth doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Papers counters with a left to the body.
Ruth looks winded!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Papers swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ruth tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Papers counters with a big right hand! Oh Ruth is in trouble here! Papers follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Money Papers!
