With a record of 26 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robert De Noteboom!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batson works over De Noteboom's head and body with a nice combination.
Batson tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

and De Noteboom counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by De Noteboom.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
De Noteboom postures up and lands a big shot to Batson's brow.

I was talking to Batson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
De Noteboom goes for a takedown attempt but Batson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

De Noteboom misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Batson tries to lock up and control but De Noteboom gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That was a close round but I would say that Bill Batson will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

De Noteboom is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Batson's shoulder. That is not cool.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw De Noteboom working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
De Noteboom wants to lay and pray for a moment but Batson keeps working.

De Noteboom has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Batson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bill Batson.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Batson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
