Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leonardo Barrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruan Carlos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Leonardo Barrera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ruan Carlos !
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlos shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Barrera is trying to defend but Carlos finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Carlos looks to land a strike but Barrera avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Barrera knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carlos on the ground.
Carlos would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Carlos throwing strikes from guard but Barrera blocks nicely.
Carlos looking to sit in guard and control but Barrera gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Barrera could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Barrera is looking to work some ground and pound but Carlos has wrist control.

Carlos is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Barrera on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Barrera wants to improve his position but Carlos is controlling well.

Barrera might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Carlos is trying to control the action in half guard but Barrera is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Carlos working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Carlos thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Barrera's head.
Carlos is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Barrera is just riding it out for now. Carlos eventually gives up the hold.

Carlos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carlos is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Barrera is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Carlos connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Carlos unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Barrera wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Carlos celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
