Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ale Cali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Pla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phil Pla will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ale Cali!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Phil Pla!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pla tries to clinch up.

Pla takes the fight into the clinch.
Cali tries for a takedown but Pla manages to get underhooks.
Cali has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pla is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Pla with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Cali misses with a knee strike.
Pla connects with a knee to the head.
Pla throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Cali blocks it with crossed arms.

Cali lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Pla looks like he's trying to stand up.

Pla is defending against the submission attempts here by Cali.
Pla tries to kick Cali off but Cali keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cali passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Pla!
Pla wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Cali looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pla is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cali wants to finish this one by submission but Pla is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Cali.
Cali wants to take Pla's back here but Pla is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
You get the feeling that Pla really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Cali moves to the back.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pla holding both Cali 's hands and preventing any damage.

Cali is working for a rear naked choke. Pla is not defending it well and Cali has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Pla refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Pla's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ale Cali!
A pretty intense looking Ale Cali took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
