Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Brandon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brandon comes into the arena with Catch Em By Surprise blaring out of the sound system. Kenny Brandon could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jeff Li's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kenny Brandon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeff Li!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brandon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Li as he avoids it easily.
Li has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Brandon is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Nice uppercut lands for Li. That snapped Brandon's head back.
Brandon is looking to clinch.

Brandon shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Li manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Li is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Brandon is controlling him.

Li seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Li pushes Brandon off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Brandon throws a head kick but Li moves out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Li bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Li uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Brandon.

Li throws a big shot that misses.
Brandon fails with a takedown attempt.

and Li connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenny Brandon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brandon goes for a double leg but Li avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Li continues to drive forward.

Li breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Brandon looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Li crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Brandon - the referee stops the clock and Li gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Brandon. Li manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Brandon wants to clinch but Li slips to the side

and Li counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Brandon tries to work over Li's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Brandon fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Brandon tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Li smiles and moves away.

Li is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Li avoids a kick to the body.
Li moves into range and connects with a jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Brandon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Li is trying to defend but Brandon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Li wants to get back to his feet.
Brandon trying to mount his opponent but Li defends it.

Li has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Brandon is on him like a limpet, forcing Li back against the cage.

Brandon looking to stall.
Brandon pushes off an throws an elbow but Li leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Brandon keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Li's efforts to push away.

Li's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Brandon looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Brandon seems to be working for a kimura but Li defends the submission attempt.

Li kicks Brandon off and gets back to his feet.
A lazy body kick from Brandon
and Li counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
No luck for Brandon with that takedown attempt.
Nice jab there from Li.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brandon throws a sloppy head kick and Li moves out of range easily.
Brandon has his takedown stuffed
letting Li counter with a right hand.
Li slaps away a takedown attempt from Brandon, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Donk. Li catches Brandon right on the button with a cross.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Li avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Brandon tries to clinch but Li is having none of it.
Brandon wants to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeff Li dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Li catches Brandon with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Li has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Brandon wants to clinch.
Brandon throws out a loose jab but Li uses good head movement to avoid it.
Brandon closes the distance but Li moves to the side
and Li counters with a right hand to the body.
Li connects with a body shot that sends Brandon's belly button to the back.

Brandon slips a jab and a cross from Li.
Brandon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Li connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Brandon looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Brandon looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Brandon.
Brandon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Li sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Brandon somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenny Brandon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Li lands with a good body shot.

Kenny Brandon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Li ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brandon moves away.
Li bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Brandon's head backwards.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Li circles away from the clinch attempt.
Li tests Brandon's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Brandon is rocked!
Brandon closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Oh Brandon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Brandon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Li avoids it really well and circles away.

Brandon fails to land the takedown.
Li throws an overhand right that drops Brandon like a sack of potatoes! Li dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Jeff Li decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
