Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rauno Tynkkynen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tynkkynen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Cow herd - Fields. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rauno Tynkkynen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fernando Martinez!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tynkkynen scores with a jab.

Tynkkynen shoots in and gets a takedown into Martinez's guard.
Tynkkynen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Martinez looking to control.
Martinez wants to sweep but no luck.
Martinez keeping moving, preventing Tynkkynen from controlling successfully.
Martinez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Tynkkynen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Martinez has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Tynkkynen but great work by Martinez.

Tynkkynen has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

and Tynkkynen counters with a single leg into guard. Martinez didn't expect that.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Tynkkynen passes Martinez's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Martinez moves into full guard.
Tynkkynen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Tynkkynen trying to control the position from guard on top but Martinez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Tynkkynen landing with the ground and pound.
Tynkkynen pushes down on Martinez's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Tynkkynen wants to stand up but Martinez is controlling the position.
Martinez wants to control but Tynkkynen is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Tynkkynen scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Well, if Tynkkynen is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Tynkkynen trying to control from half guard but Martinez is working away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tynkkynen slips a nice elbow through Martinez's hands, connecting with Martinez's forehead.
Martinez is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Tynkkynen scores with a couple of nice shots.
Tynkkynen thows a huge punch but Martinez dodges it nicely.
Tynkkynen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tynkkynen seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Tynkkynen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Martinez keeps working.
Tynkkynen content to control rather than advance.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ground and pound from Tynkkynen.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rauno Tynkkynen dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Tynkkynen stuns Martinez with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Tynkkynen works the jab nicely.

Tynkkynen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tynkkynen postures up and lands a big shot to Martinez's brow.

Tynkkynen postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Tynkkynen cracks Martinez with a solid left hand.

Tynkkynen stands up over Martinez, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.


Martinez is rocked!
Tynkkynen passes Martinez's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Tynkkynen decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Martinez is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Martinez gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Tynkkynen gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Martinez is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rauno Tynkkynen!
An out of breath Rauno Tynkkynen thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
