Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lesnar comes to the cage accompanied by 50 Cent - 21 Questions. Machida comes into a darkened arena with his song building. For Whom The Bell Tolls kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sergio Lesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 28 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lyoto Machida!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Machida.
Lesnar lunges at Machida with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Machida's hand.
Lesnar closes the distance and clinches up with Machida, looking for a takedown. Lesnar pushes Machida against the cage but Machida circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lesnar has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Franklin D. Bluth Memorial Supergym in the buildup to the fight.
Lesnar throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Machida's waist but Machida gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lesnar off to one side.

Machida uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lesnar.
Machida leaves Lesnar with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Machida counters with a good, hard body kick but Lesnar shrugs it off.

Lesnar keeps control of Machida as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Lesnar throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Machida blocks it with crossed arms.

Machida blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Machida wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Lesnar lands a takedown into guard.
Lesnar pushes down on Machida's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lesnar is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Machida to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Machida really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lesnar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Machida can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lesnar feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Machidas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Machida lands with a nice combination. Lesnar backs away looking to recover.


It looks like Sergio Lesnar has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Machida stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Machida wants it to stay on the feet.

Lesnar tries to close the distance and clinch up but Machida swats him away and circles back towards the center.
