The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Satan with a lazy takedown attempt
and Joseph counters with a head kick. That will keep Satan thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Satan tries for a takedown but Joseph circles away easily
and Joseph finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Satan has his takedown stuffed

and Joseph counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Joseph.
Jake Joseph has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of dj Satan.
Satan looks winded!
Joseph wants to break free but Satan has control.
Joseph wants to break the clinch but can't.

Satan gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Joseph looking for a sweep. Not yet Joseph, not yet.
Joseph knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Satan on the ground.
Satan wants to pass the guard but Joseph is keeping the position.
Joseph is trying to control the position but Satan postures up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Joseph is adopting a defensive guard.
Satan tries to free his leg and advance position but Joseph is retaining full guard.

Joseph really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jake Joseph wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Satan tries for a takedown but Joseph circles away easily
and Joseph counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Satan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Joseph explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Joseph clinches with his opponent.

Joseph has Satan pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Joseph pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Satan tumbling to the mat - Joseph dives into Satan's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Satan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Joseph's guard.
Joseph not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Satan slips nicely into half guard.
Joseph tries to get to full guard but Satan has control of the leg.
Satan wants to pass to mount but Joseph is defending the position.
Joseph wants to get back to full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Satan passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Joseph!

Satan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
