Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bai Yu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Din Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas has chosen Two Steps from Hell as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas throws out a loose jab but Yu uses good head movement to avoid it.
Thomas looks to land a right hand but Yu moved out of range.
Thomas swings for the body but Yu moves out of range.
Thomas will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
The fight stays on the outside here - Thomas looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Thomas shoots in and gets a takedown into Yu's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Yu trying to keep a closed guard but Thomas is proving a slippery customer.
Thomas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yu swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Yu seems keen to control Thomas's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Thomas tries to free his leg and advance position but Yu is retaining full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Bai Yu just wasn't active enough.
Thomas throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Yu, right into the meat.
Thomas has his takedown stuffed
and Yu counters with a good low kick that Thomas was not able to check.
Yu fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Thomas has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Yu lands a head shot.

It looks like Din Thomas has been cut.

Good leg kick by Yu there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Thomas misses with a few strikes there.

Yu ducks under a wild hook from Thomas.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Thomas ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Yu moves away.
Yu displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Thomas.
Bai Yu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Din Thomas.

and Yu counters with a slapping leg kick.
Yu connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Din Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thomas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Yu sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Thomas somewhat.

A decent looking cross lands there for Thomas.
Yu throws a leg kick but Thomas sees it coming and moves out of range.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Yu.

Thomas shoots in but no luck this time.
Yu staying out of range there.
We've been told by Yu's head coaches at Loucademia muito crazy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Thomas misses with a double jab.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Bai Yu will probably get the nod.

Horrible takedown attempt by Thomas or perhaps it was just good defense by Yu, which made it look bad.

Thomas shoots for a double leg takedown but Yu sprawls well. He's pushed Thomas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Yu bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

and Yu counters with a low kick, right behind Thomas 's knee.
Thomas doesn't manage to clinch there - Yu circles away.
Yu lands a big head kick that sends Thomas to the canvas! Yu follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
