Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Barrett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Myoto Lachida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Myoto Lachida!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lachida shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Barrett napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Lachida has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Barrett!
Barrett might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Lachida jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Barrett manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Barrett's coaches at Xtreme MMA have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Barrett takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lachida advances to mount.
Barrett knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lachida on the ground.
The referee warns Barrett that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lachida cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Lachida with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Barrett wants to hold on but Lachida pushes him away.

Lachida jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Barrett is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Barrett and Lachida has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Lachida tries to advance to mount but Barrett denies him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lachida is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Barrett knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Barrett on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Barrett tries to get out of the position.

Lachida wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Barrett, who protects the arm well.

In his post fight interview, Myoto Lachida started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
