Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Sappy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerome Castro Gomes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Castro Gomes comes into a darkened arena with his song building. BJ Penn kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bob Sappy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jerome Castro Gomes!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sappy gets tackled into the ropes by Castro Gomes. Castro Gomes maintains the clinch.
Castro Gomes's coach down at ORIGINAL OWNER was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Castro Gomes's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Sappy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sappy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Castro Gomes as he avoids it easily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Sappy scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Castro Gomes tries to bench press Sappy off him but Sappy keeps the position.

Sappy decides to take the fight back to the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bob Sappy.

Castro Gomes closes the distance and clinches up with Sappy, looking for a takedown. Castro Gomes pushes Sappy against the ropes but Sappy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sappy shoots in looking for a takedown but Castro Gomes manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sappy's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Castro Gomes wants to stand but Sappy has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Castro Gomes should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sappy tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bob Sappy will probably get the nod.

Sappy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Sappy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

A close second round but Jerome Castro Gomes will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Sappy shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sappy shoots in looking for a takedown. Castro Gomes tries to sprawl out of it but Sappy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Castro Gomes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bob Sappy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

It looks like Bob Sappy has been cut.
Jerome Castro Gomes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Castro Gomes dives in for a single leg takedown but Sappy sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bob Sappy.
I think Sappy has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
