Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kieran Broderick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Zane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kieran Broderick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Zane!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zane moves into the clinch successfully.
Broderick misses with a punch to the body.
Broderick has Zane pressed against the cage, preventing Zane from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Zane drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Zane tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Broderick gets underhooks to prevent Zane's takedown attempt.
Kieran Broderick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Zane.
Zane jumps guard but Broderick stands there with Zane around his waist. Zane gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Sloppy strikes from Broderick. Those never looked like landing.

Zane closes the distance and pushes Broderick back into the cage.

Zane throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Broderick is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Zane slips a jab and a cross from Broderick.
Nice takedown defense from Broderick. No joy for Zane on that attempt.
Broderick uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Zane.

Zane tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Zane rushes Broderick and presses him up against the cage.
Broderick is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Zane is working for takedown but Broderick is calmly controlling the position for now.
Zane has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Broderick seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Zane can turn it around.

Zane tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Broderick just stands there and leans against the cage.

Zane changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Broderick tries to avoid it but Zane manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Broderick to the ground. Broderick escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Broderick tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Broderick creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Zane misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Broderick.
Zane is trying to drag Broderick to the mat but Broderick just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Broderick jumps guard but Zane stands there with Broderick around his waist. Broderick gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zane jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Broderick walks away with a smile on his face. Zane gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Zane avoids a punch combination nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mike Zane will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Zane buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Zane throws a half hearted mid kick.
Zane throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Zane shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Broderick sprawls well. Broderick wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Zane gets slowly back to his feet.
Broderick throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Zane tries to clinch there but Broderick circles away.

Zane rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Broderick moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Broderick controls Zane momentarily but Zane frees himself.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Zane decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Mike Zane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Broderick wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Zane is trying to maintain a safe position but Broderick gets an underhook and turns Zane into the cage.

Zane has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Broderick clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Broderick has hold of Zane's arm. He needs to escape this position sooner or later but for now he's happy enough to control the position and prevent the submission attempts.

You can see the frustration on Broderick's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Zane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Broderick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Zane looking to break Broderick's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Broderick remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Zane will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Zane is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Broderick has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Mike Zane has got the better of the ground game so far.
