Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rod Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and General Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanders's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Freddie Gibbs - Still Livin'. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rod Sanders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, General Lee!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanders looks for the body kick but Lee saw that one coming.
Sanders tests Lee's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Sanders walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Lee checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Sanders pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sanders swats away the attempt to clinch by Lee.
Sanders shoots in for a takedown but Lee shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Lee pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lee has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Lee throws a body kick that misses.
Sanders tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Sanders throws a hook but Lee blocks it.
Sanders lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Sanders throws a body kick that misses.
Sanders keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lee wants to land a leg kick but Sanders is out of range.

Lee tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sanders swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rod Sanders seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sanders seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Sanders lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lee has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lee and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Sanders tries a head kick but it misses.
Sanders throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sanders blocks a head kick by Lee.
Lee tries to clinch up but Sanders circles away and keeps his distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Crunch! Sanders slams his shin into Lee's torso.
Lee moves out of range of the leg kick from Sanders.
Lee tries to clinch up.
Lee tries to land a front kick but Sanders steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Sanders fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lee avoids it really well and circles away.
Sanders connects with a high kick.
Lee tried to score with a low kick but Sanders checks it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sanders looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Lee is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Sanders jumps into side control!

Lee manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sanders's best efforts.
Lee makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lee.
Sanders wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.

Lee wants to sweep here but Sanders controlling him for the moment.
This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sanders is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Sanders is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lee is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lee has escaped and now he's on top!

Lee throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Sanders counters with a takedown into side control.
Sanders landing a few strikes.
Sanders lands a few punches from side control.
Lee tries to improve position but can't.
Sanders working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Sanders postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sanders lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Lee down.

Lee is not content to let Sanders control the position.
Lee takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Sanders swings around for an armbar but Lee sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Sanders's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lee accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Rod Sanders overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Lee tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sanders paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A slapping leg kick lands for Sanders.

Sanders darts in looking for a takedown but Lee gets double underhooks and turns Sanders into the cage.
Lee lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Lee must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Sanders has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

General Lee has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sanders is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Lee is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Lee tries to free his leg and advance position but Sanders is retaining full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sanders is trying to keep Lee in close.
Sanders bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lee's guard.
Sanders working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Lee's head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rod Sanders.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sanders, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Rod Sanders decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
