Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pablo West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohammed Saadi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pablo West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mohammed Saadi!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Saadi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. West sprawls well initially but Saadi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
West is looking to escape.
West gets back to full guard.
West is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

West scrambles and gets back to his feet.
West misses with a takedown attempt - Saadi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Saadi closes the distance and clinches.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now West is on top in guard.
Saadi wants to sweep here but West controlling him for the moment.
West trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
West is fighting to break Saadi's control of his arms but Saadi is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Saadi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

West seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

and West counters with a left and a right that stings Saadi.

West throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Saadi's waist but Saadi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing West off to one side.
West tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Saadi swivels and escapes.
Saadi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
West will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

West closes the distance and clinches up with Saadi, looking for a takedown. West pushes Saadi against the cage but Saadi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Saadi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Saadi makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
West wants to stand and escape but Saadi is having none of it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Saadi would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Mohammed Saadi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



West takes the fight into the clinch.
West tries to pull guard but Saadi holds him up against the cage and eventually West drops back down to his feet.

Saadi has clasped his hands together around West's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Saadi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with West. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Saadi wants to lay and pray for a moment but West keeps working.
West wants to get back to his feet but Saadi drags him back down.

West is not content to let Saadi control the position.
West is pushing Saadi's head away, looking to escape. Saadi manages to hold on to the position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Saadi tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

West is pushing Saadi's head away, looking to escape. Saadi manages to hold on to the position though.
Saadi is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt West will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
West wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Saadi decides to stand up, so the ref orders West to his feet.

Saadi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Saadi wants to improve his position but instead West has moved into half guard.
Saadi is refusing to be controlled, as West sits in half guard.

Saadi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. West is working away from the top position though.
Saadi might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control West haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
West content to control rather than advance.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Mohammed Saadi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Saadi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
