Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcellus Vaughan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry Ale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marcellus Vaughan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Larry Ale!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ale has Vaughan up against the cage in a clinch.
Vaughan is trying to force a seperation but Ale has the dominant position.

Ale works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Ale trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ale trying to control the position from guard on top but Vaughan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ale working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Ale throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Vaughan keeping moving, preventing Ale from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Larry Ale.

Ale is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Vaughan's half guard.

Vaughan throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Ale trying to control from half guard but Vaughan is working away.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Larry Ale hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Ale misses with a wild body shot.

Ale closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Vaughan did well to prevent Ale getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vaughan is in trouble now - Ale has advanced to mount!

Ale wants to take a breather but Vaughan is having none of it.
Vaughan tries to roll over but Ale keeps him under control.

Still in half guard, Ale seems content to control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Larry Ale hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Ale gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Ale has picked Vaughan up - he's going for a ride! Ale dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Vaughan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ale's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ale's back!

Vaughan throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Ale!
Ale can't escape the position.
Ale looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Vaughan is landing with strikes from the back.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ale rolls, trying to escape but Vaughan keeps control of the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Vaughan controlling well, preventing Ale from escaping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Ale closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Ale goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Vaughan has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Ale but great work by Vaughan.

Vaughan is looking to take a break and control but Ale is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ale managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Vaughan.

Ale is pushing Vaughan's head away, looking to escape. Vaughan manages to hold on to the position though.

Ale is trying to work for a sweep but Vaughan has mounted him!

Vaughan lands a big shot there that rocks Ale but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Vaughan in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Ale tries to hold on but Vaughan pushes him away.
Ale tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vaughan lands a nice shot to the head.
Ale keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Vaughan controlling the position easily from mount.

Vaughan has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Ale's face.
Ale is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ale wants to control but Vaughan is having none of it.
Ale is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Vaughan is staying active.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcellus Vaughan dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Ale throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vaughan was covering up waiting for the punch and Ale finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Vaughan is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Ale dives into side control.
Vaughan is letting Ale control him for a moment.

Ale decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Ale closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Vaughan did well to prevent Ale getting side control.
Vaughan is not content to let Ale control the position.

Ale is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Vaughan is just riding it out for now. Ale eventually gives up the hold.
Ale is controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ale misses with a head shot. Vaughan uses the momentum to regain guard.
Ale throws a big right hand that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Vaughan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ale defends well.

Ale stands and steps away. Vaughan gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Vaughan throws a sloppy head kick and Ale moves out of range easily.

Ale fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Vaughan sprawls well initially but Ale persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Vaughan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ale.
Ale is just content to waste time from the top position. Vaughan takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Ale trying to control the position from guard on top but Vaughan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Larry Ale.
Vaughan doesn't manage to clinch there - Ale circles away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Larry Ale comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ale has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
