Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Max Handle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Van Leeder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Handle kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Right On. Leeder has chosen Pantera - Cowboys From Hell as his entrance music. Van Leeder has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Max Handle's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Van Leeder!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Handle wants to clinch.
Leeder will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Handle tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Leeder swivels and escapes.
Handle throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Handle fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Handle gets tackled into the cage by Leeder. Leeder maintains the clinch.
Handle is trying to break the clinch but Leeder has him pressed against the cage.

Handle escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've been told by Handle's head coaches at Diamond In The Rough Training Facility that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Handle tried to score with a low kick but Leeder checks it.
Handle tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Leeder has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Leeder checks a leg kick.

Leeder throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Handle stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Handle shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Handle takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Leeder has managed to clinch.

Leeder breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Leeder scores with a nice right hand.
Handle dodges the punch combination from Leeder.
Handle shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Leeder sprawls well. Leeder wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Handle gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Handle. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Leeder's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Leeder leaves Handle with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Handle tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Leeder counters with a left to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Handle throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Leeder.
Handle throws a series of punches but Leeder moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Van Leeder will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Leeder counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Handle throws a sloppy head kick and Leeder moves out of range easily.
Handle throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Leeder's waist but Leeder gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Handle off to one side.
Leeder throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Leeder lands a right hook to the body.
Max Handle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Leeder drives through and clinches with Handle against the cage.
Handle tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Leeder's elbow.
Handle lands a body shot.

Leeder breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Leeder is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Handle rather than just go for the knockout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Handle circles away from the clinch attempt.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Handle enables Leeder to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Handle manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Leeder has gone for a leg lock! Handle slips out almost immediately though and dives into Leeder's guard.
Handle knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Leeder on the ground.

Leeder throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Handle wants to control from the top but Leeder keeps moving.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Leeder keeping full guard, as Handle tries to pass.
Handle throws a strike but Leeder rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Handle working a defensive guard but Leeder manages to pass into side control anyway.
Leeder misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Leeder lands a nice forearm strike.

Leeder wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Handle, who protects the arm well.

Leeder decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Handle tries to keep at a distance but Leeder has taken the fight into the clinch.
Leeder has had enough of the clinch but Handle keeps him there for the moment.
Handle could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Leeder manages to break the clinch.

Nice body punch from Leeder.

Leeder moves into the clinch.

Handle's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Handle instigates a clinch.
Handle keeps control of Leeder as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Handle has a couple of punches blocked by Leeder.
Leeder has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Handle has had enough of the clinch but Leeder keeps him there for the moment.
Handle lands with a left to the head.
Come on Handle - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Handle wants to break free but Leeder has control.
Handle tries to work over Leeder's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Handle jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Leeder walks away with a smile on his face. Handle gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Handle lands with a short shot to the head.
Leeder pushes Handle back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Handle misses with an elbow over the top.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Handle tries a body shot but Leeder blocks it.
Handle misses with a short punch on the inside.

Leeder breaks from the clinch.
Leeder circles away from the clinch attempt.

Leeder closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Handle tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Leeder's elbow.
Handle jumps guard but Leeder stands there with Handle around his waist. Handle gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Leeder jumps into guard, dragging Handle to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Leeder is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Handle rolls with it to try and escape but Leeder cranks on the arm and Handle is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Van Leeder!
A relieved looking Van Leeder thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
