PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Cartman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Minotauro Nog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cartman comes to the cage accompanied by Poisonblack - Home Is Where The Sty Is . Minotauro Nog told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nog closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Cartman did well to prevent Nog getting side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Nog tries to stand and escape but Cartman actually recovers to full guard.
Nog wants to control from the top but Cartman keeps moving.

Cartman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nog gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Nog is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Nog advances to half guard.
Cartman misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nog is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cartman is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nog pulls his head out easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Eric Cartman will probably get the nod.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nog accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Cartman thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Minotauro Nog showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Minotauro Nog has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Nog feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Cartman's calf.
Cartman misses with a head kick.
Nog goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Nog is looking to clinch but Cartman is avoiding it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nog remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The ground and pound from Nog seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Nog drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cartman manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nog has Cartman in his guard.

Minotauro Nog comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
