Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ernesto Guevara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teddy Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guevara's entrance music is Che. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ernesto Guevara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Teddy Bravo!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Russell Pearce and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guevara has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Bravo.
Guevara scores with a jab.


It looks like Teddy Bravo has been cut.
Bravo's coach down at Valhalla:NY GYM was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Bravo's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Bravo gets a takedown into half guard.
Guevara keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Bravo sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Guevara defending well though.
Guevara is trying to stand up here but Bravo is controlling him well.
Bravo wants to take a breather but Guevara is having none of it.
Bravo misses with a head shot. Guevara uses the momentum to regain guard.
Bravo throws an elbow that misses. Guevara uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bravo's guard. Nice move by Guevara!

Guevara won't allow Bravo to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bravo pulls Guevara in close to prevent any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Teddy Bravo was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Guevara gets a clinch.

Guevara on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Bravo wants to stall.
Bravo throws an elbow that misses.
Bravo is looking for a takedown.

Bravo manages to break the clinch.
Guevara closes the distance and clinches up with Bravo, looking for a takedown. Guevara pushes Bravo against the cage but Bravo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bravo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Guevara.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Guevara checks a leg kick.
A big left from Guevara misses.
Ernesto Guevara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Guevara rushes Bravo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bravo looking to slow down the pace here.

Guevara blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Bravo tightens his grip and picks Guevara up, before dumping him to the ground. Guevara manages to land in guard.

Bravo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Guevara works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Bravo wants to control from the top but Guevara keeps moving.

Guevara is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Bravo presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Bravo creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Both fighters working to control the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bravo misses with an elbow strike.
Guevara jumps guard but Bravo stands there with Guevara around his waist. Guevara gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Guevara misses with an uppercut. Bravo saw that one coming.
Bravo looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Guevara throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bravo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Bravo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Guevara wants to stand up but Bravo is controlling him.

Bravo throws a strike but Guevara rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Guevara won't allow Bravo to get back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ernesto Guevara just wasn't active enough.

Bravo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Guevara was covering up waiting for the punch and Bravo finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Guevara wants to stand up but Bravo is controlling him.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ernesto Guevara wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Guevara fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Guevara throws out a loose jab but Bravo uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bravo connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Bravo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bravo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Bravo lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Bravo throwing strikes but Guevara manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Bravo is looking for a sweep.

Guevara decides to stand back up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bravo looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Bravo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Guevara manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Bravo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bravo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Bravo wants to control from the top but Guevara keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bravo throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Bravo tries to clinch up but Guevara circles away and keeps his distance.
Guevara fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bravo manages to avoid it.
Bravo slips a straight right by Guevara.
Guevara shoots for a takedown but Bravo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Bravo throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Guevara tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bravo is in Guevara's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bravo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

It looks like Ernesto Guevara has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bravo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Bravo gets the takedown into side control.
Bravo in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Bravo cracks Guevara with a big elbow.

Bravo tries to advance position but instead Guevara slips a leg back in to half guard.
Bravo wants to free his trapped foot but Guevara is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Guevara regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Bravo.
Guevara utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Teddy Bravo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bravo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
