The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Block lands with an overhand left.
Alzate misses with a wild body shot.
Alzate fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Block just misses with a punch to the body.
Block loads up on a big right hand but Alzate slips the punch.
A slow jab from Block misses its intended target.
Alzate fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Block checks it well.
Block missing with a left hand there. Alzate was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Alzate throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Block keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Alzate moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Niko Alzate seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Block is trying to maintain a safe position but Alzate gets an underhook and turns Block into the cage.

Alzate pushes Block against the cage. Alzate is working some dirty boxing. Alzate pushes off with a quick right hook! Block goes down! Block tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Alzate moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
