The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verde walks into a straight right hand from Colombo.
It looks like Rodriguez Verde has been cut.
Verde drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Verde postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Colombo is looking for a sweep.
Verde taking a breather here.
Verde has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Verde tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
