Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bulle Bong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brett Strong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bulle Bong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brett Strong!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Strong instigates a clinch.
Bong wants to stall.
Strong wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Strong gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Bong.
Strong keeps control of Bong as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Strong jumps guard and drags Bong to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Strong holds on and takes a little breather.
Strong looking for a sweep. Not yet Strong, not yet.
Strong has Bong pulled in close to control his posture.
Bong wants to control from the top but Strong keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Bong tries to close the distance and clinch but Strong swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Bong gets tackled into the cage by Strong. Strong maintains the clinch.
Bong is trying to stall.

Bong's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bong throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bong has a takedown stuffed.
Bong tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bulle Bong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bong pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Strong tries for a takedown but Bong circles away easily
and Bong counters with a big head kick but Strong shrugs it off.

Strong fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bong sprawls well initially but Strong persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Bong is trying to stand up here but Strong is controlling him well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Strong seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Strong is controlling the pace.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Let's hope that Strong has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Bong on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Strong is pressing down on Bong's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bong is holding on for now.
Strong wants to control but Bong is keeping him busy.

Bong is trying to stand back up but Strong is controlling him
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Strong connects with a nice short shot to Bong's temple.
Bong tries to kick Strong off but Strong keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Strong wants to pass the guard but Bong is defending well.
Strong not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Strong trying to mount his opponent but Bong defends it.
Strong content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bong wants to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Strong tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bong knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Bong tries to roll over but Strong keeps him under control.

Bong manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Strong keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Strong wants to get back to striking at distance but Bong won't allow it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bong breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Strong misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bong pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Strong back to the cage. Bong follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brett Strong dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Bulle Bong is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bong goes for a double leg but Strong avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Strong continues to drive forward.

Strong is trying to trip Bong. He has hold of a leg but Bong is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Strong persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Strong postures up.
Bong wants to control the position but Strong says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Bong is looking to escape.
Strong is looking to advance position but Bong won't allow it.
Bong is looking to improve his position.
Strong has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Bong works to full guard.
Bong wants to stand up but Strong is controlling him.
Bong might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Bong scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Bong shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Strong pinned against the cage. Strong gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bong lands a nice looking body shot.
Strong tries a head kick but it misses.

Strong looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Strong wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bong keeps working.
Strong trying to pass the guard but Bong defending well.

Strong with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Strong wants to control but Bong is keeping him busy.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Bong wants to get back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Brett Strong was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Strong circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bong misses with a head kick.

Strong gets a double leg takedown into Bong's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Strong wanted to stand there but Bong had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Strong controls from within his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Brett Strong.
Strong goes for a double leg but Bong avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bong continues to drive forward.

Bong slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Strong bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Brett Strong has got the better of the ground game so far.

Strong thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brett Strong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Strong stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Strong wants it to stay on the feet.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bong tries to bench press Strong off him but Strong keeps the position.

Bong sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Bong avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Strong.
Strong is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Strong trying to control from half guard but Bong is working away.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Strong in particular looking to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Brett Strong was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Bong looks to land a combination but Strong avoids it well.
Strong throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bong sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bong throws a half hearted mid kick.
Strong throws a head kick but Bong moves out of range.
Bong fails with an attempt to clinch.

Jab, jab by Bong - just one landing.
Strong tries to clinch up but Bong circles away and keeps his distance.

Strong gets the takedown into side control.
Strong in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Strong advances to mount.
Bong is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Strong dominating with strikes here.
Strong landing strikes, looking to finish!
Bong is looking to get to half guard.

Strong looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bong is squirming around, avoiding Strong's attempts to control the action.
Strong sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Bulle Bong has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bong tries to buck Strong off but he can't manage it.
Brett Strong is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
