Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ion Ioanide (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juul Hupperts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juul Hupperts!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Hupperts misses.
Ioanide dives in for a single leg takedown but Hupperts sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Hupperts gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ioanide is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Well, if Hupperts is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Ioanide is refusing to be controlled, as Hupperts sits in half guard.
Ioanide tries to get to full guard but Hupperts has control of the leg.

Hupperts seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Hupperts is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Hupperts looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hupperts wants to pass the guard but Ioanide is defending well.
Ioanide definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Ioanide has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hupperts is working away from the top position though.

Hupperts is working for a submission of some sort.
Hupperts is trying to control the action in half guard but Ioanide is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Hupperts is controlling the pace.
Hupperts scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Hupperts is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ioanide is just riding it out for now. Hupperts eventually gives up the hold.
Hupperts seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ioanide does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ioanide is trying to control but Hupperts passes into side control!

Let's hope that Hupperts has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Hupperts looking to isolate an arm here. Ioanide doesn't see it coming and as Hupperts extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Hupperts!
