Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Burton Lawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pelle Andersson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawson tries to clinch but Andersson moves out of range.
Lawson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Lawson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Andersson on his heels. He'll look to pass Andersson's guard now, I'm sure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Lawson postures up and lands a big shot to Andersson's brow.
Lawson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Pelle Andersson wasn't active enough on the ground.

It looks like Burton Lawson has been cut.
Andersson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Andersson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lawson's half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Andersson connects with a nice short shot to Lawson's temple.

Andersson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lawson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lawson has momentary wrist control but Andersson slips an elbow through the middle.

Andersson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lawson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lawson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lawson!

Lawson swings around for an armbar but Andersson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lawson's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Burton Lawson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lawson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Andersson defends it nicely.

Andersson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lawson was covering up waiting for the punch and Andersson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Andersson wants to get up but he can't break Lawson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Andersson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lawson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Andersson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Lawson pushes Andersson off and scrambles back to his feet.
Andersson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Andersson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Andersson has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Lawson is on him like a limpet, forcing Andersson back against the cage.

Lawson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Andersson can pounce on him.

Well Andersson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
