The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oconnor gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Carr counters by moving into the clinch.
Oconnor lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Carr backwards.

Oconnor shoots in looking for a takedown. Carr tries to sprawl out of it but Oconnor keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carr manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Carr tries to pull guard but Oconnor holds him up against the cage and eventually Carr drops back down to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Oconnor enables Carr to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Oconnor manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Oconnor shoots in for a takedown but Carr shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Oconnor wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Carr drops his hands momentarily and Oconnor takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Look low, kick high! Oconnor uses the oldest trick in the book to send Carr tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Oconnor is absolutely delighted - when Carr wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
