Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Terry Mcdermott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heath Chappell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcdermott comes to the cage accompanied by Broken Wings. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Terry Mcdermott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Heath Chappell!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Paul Gruel and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chappell has taken the fight to the clinch.

Mcdermott tightens his grip and picks Chappell up, before dumping him to the ground. Chappell manages to land in guard.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mcdermott cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Chappell's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Chappell somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!

We've been hearing good reports from Mcdermott's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

You get the feeling that Chappell really doesn't like being in this position too much.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Chappell enables Mcdermott to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Chappell manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
