Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Hess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Waka Flo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flo has chosen Dr. Dre ft Snoop Dog as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Scott Hess!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Waka Flo!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hess tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hess is looking to clinch.

Flo closes the distance and clinches.
Hess tries to break free but Flo pushes him back against the cage.
Hess jumps guard but Flo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Flo drags the fight down to the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Flo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Helsinki inform us that Flo has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Hess postures up.

Flo might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hess haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Flo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Flo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hess doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hess manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Flo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hess chips away with some ground and pound.
Hess working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Hess stands and steps away. Flo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Flo swats away the attempt to clinch by Hess.
Hess shoots and misses
and Flo counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Waka Flo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Flo scores with a takedown into Hess's guard.
Hess striking off his back but it's not causing Flo any problems.
Hess wants to stand up but Flo is controlling him.
Hess keeping moving, preventing Flo from controlling successfully.

Hess is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hess really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Waka Flo has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Hess rushes Flo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Hess's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hess looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Flo is fending him off so far but Hess persists. Nope, Flo circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Hess. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hess wants to clinch up but Flo keeps it at a distance.
Flo throws a body kick that misses.

Hess has Flo up against the cage in a clinch.
Hess tries to pull guard but Flo holds him up against the cage and eventually Hess drops back down to his feet.

Hess jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Flo walks away with a smile on his face. Hess gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hess shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Flo sprawls well. Flo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hess gets slowly back to his feet.

Flo closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hess's guard.
Hess knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Flo on the ground.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Flo wants to stand but Hess is controlling his posture from full guard.

A close round but Waka Flo will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Hess shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Flo as he avoids it easily.

Flo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hess, pushing him back against the cage.

Hess has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Flo is trying to keep an underhook but Hess manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Hess not doing much here.
Flo is trying to control but Hess passes into side control!
Flo is breathing heavily.

The strikes coming from Hess are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Hess wants to control but Flo is keeping him busy.
Hess will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Flo can't do much from the bottom here.
Flo tries to buck Hess off but Hess is having none of it.
Flo is trying to work for a sweep but Hess has mounted him!

Hess closes the distance and clinches.
Hess tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Hess ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hess no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Flo tries to free his leg and advance position but Hess is retaining full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hess pushes Flo off and gets back to his feet.

Hess closes the distance and clinches up with Flo, looking for a takedown. Hess pushes Flo against the cage but Flo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hess is trying hard to land a takedown here. Flo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Scott Hess is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Flo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Scott Hess.
Well Hess has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
