The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Church shoots in but Vargas avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Vargas feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Church sprawling to the canvas! Church rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Vargas finish him?!
Church is rocked!
It looks like Dewey Church has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vargas lands a huge takedown. Church is out but the ref is slow to react and Vargas lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Church lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
