Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Juancho Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Juancho Rivera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 22 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Walter!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Rivera scores with a leg kick.
Rivera throws a leg kick but Walter sees it coming and moves out of range.
Rivera misses with a low kick.
Walter fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Walter throws a nice looking combination but Rivera bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Walter tries to clinch but Rivera is having none of it.

Walter closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rivera to the mat! Rivera manages to get full guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Rivera not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rivera utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Walter shoots for a double leg takedown but Rivera sprawls well. He's pushed Walter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Some bone on bone action there as Walter checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Walter uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rivera.
Rivera thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Walter if he has to take too many more of those.
Walter shoots in but Rivera avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Juancho Rivera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Walter.
Walter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rivera.

Rivera ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Walter moves away.

Walter shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Walter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rivera keeps working.

Walter looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Walter seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rivera does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Walter content to control rather than advance.
Walter is looking to stall here but Rivera recovers full guard.

Walter controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Rivera is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Walter postures up in Rivera's guard and throws a big left but Rivera blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Walter dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Rivera throws a looping overhand right but Walter ducks down to avoid it.
Walter shoots in looking for a takedown but Rivera manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Walter's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Walter shoots in for a double leg but Rivera sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Walter with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rivera to score with a decent uppercut.

Walter closes the distance and clinches.
Rivera tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Rivera lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Walter backwards.

Rivera wants to break free but Walter has control.

Walter has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rivera avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Juancho Rivera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Walter.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Walter presses Rivera against the ropes and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Walter is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Walter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rivera wants to control from the top but Walter keeps moving.
Rivera will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Rivera decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Walter, up you get!

Walter misses with a takedown attempt - Rivera sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Rivera connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Walter moves out of range of the strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Peter Walter has got the better of the ground game so far.
Walter is stalling here. Rivera is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Walter seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Rivera has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Rivera decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Rivera is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

That was a close second round but I would say that Juancho Rivera will probably get the nod.

Walter is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Walter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rivera with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Walter is looking to take a break and control but Rivera is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Walter works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Rivera managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Walter.

Walter tries for a kimura but Rivera is defending well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Walter wants to control but Rivera is keeping him busy.
