PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between The Sparring Bot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uruhara Hatake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, The Sparring Bot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Uruhara Hatake!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bot moves into the clinch.
Bot fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Bot throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Hatakes head.
Hatake blocks an uppercut.
Hatake blocks an uppercut.
Bot lands a nice uppercut.
Bot lands with a left to the head.
Bot misses with a short punch on the inside.
Hatake blocking some punches.
Bot swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Hatake manages to break the clinch.
Bot tries to clinch up
and Hatake counters with a head kick. That will keep Bot thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hatake blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Bot misses with a short punch on the inside.

Hatake is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Bot can't fight it off and eventually Hatake manages to take the fight to the floor. Bot looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bot has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Hatake lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hatake tries to free his leg and advance position but Bot is retaining full guard.
Hatake slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Bot.

Hatake seems to be working for a kimura but Bot defends the submission attempt.
Hatake blocks the strikes from Bot.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bot misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Bot is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.
Bot manages to get to full guard.
Bot throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Hatake stands up out of Bot's guard for a moment - Bot manages to land a nice upkick.
Bot lands an upkick as Hatake stands over him.
Bot has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hatake is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hatake pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bot is keeping the position for now.

Hatake told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Hatake is looking to work some ground and pound but Bot has wrist control.

Hatake is looking to work some ground and pound but Bot has wrist control.

Bot misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Bot strikes from the bottom but Hatake passes into mount!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hatake wants to control the pace but Bot is squirming around nicely.
Hatake fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Bot throws a strike from the bottom but Hatake uses the opportunity to take his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that The Sparring Bot will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Bot tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hatake paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Hatake avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The Sparring Bot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Hatake counters with a head kick that drops Bot to the mat! Bot scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

and Hatake counters with a double leg that slams his opponent to the canvas! Bot is in trouble here! Hatake pounds away until the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Uruhara Hatake!
Our winner, Uruhara Hatake, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
