PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leonardo DeRosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Combat Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Die for Metal kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Leonardo DeRosa has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Leonardo DeRosa seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leonardo DeRosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Combat Jack!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jack connects with a looping right hand.
Jack takes one to the side of the head.

It looks like Combat Jack has been cut.
Jack lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Jack blocks the body kick.
DeRosa misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jack scores with a crisp jab that stopped DeRosa in his tracks.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
DeRosa tries a head kick but it misses.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by DeRosa.
Jack avoids the body shot from DeRosa.
DeRosa blocks a jab.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jack checks a leg kick.
DeRosa scoring well with a low kick there.

Jack closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
DeRosa goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
DeRosa misses with a hook to the ribs.
DeRosa lands a body punch in the clinch.
DeRosa throws a head punch that misses.
Jack misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from DeRosa.
Jack is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. DeRosa is defending well for now.
DeRosa lands a hook to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jack using the Thai plumb to throw knees but DeRosa has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Jack landing knees to the body.
Jack lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
DeRosa has a couple of punches blocked by Jack.
DeRosa misses with a body punch.
Jack pushes DeRosa back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

DeRosa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
DeRosa misses with an uppercut.
Jack misses with a kick to the body.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts DeRosa, as that shot connected.
Jack thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on DeRosa if he has to take too many more of those.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jack lands a nice shot that snaps DeRosa's head back.
DeRosa looks to land a body kick but Jack moved away.

Jack lands a big head kick that sends DeRosa tumbling to the mat! Jack takes a step backwards and waves DeRosa back to his feet - he wants the finish!

DeRosa is rocked!
Jack cracks a nice hook into DeRosa's ribs.
Oh DeRosa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
DeRosa is breathing heavily.
Jack fakes the body blow, causing DeRosa to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! DeRosa goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Combat Jack!
A relieved looking Combat Jack thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
