PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Polish Engineer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Petr Jakovlev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jakovlev comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Devour kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Polish Engineer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Petr Jakovlev!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jakovlev fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jakovlev tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Engineer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jakovlev dives in and grabs Engineer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Engineer pushes down on Jakovlev's head and hops out.
Engineer leaves Jakovlev with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jakovlev stuns Engineer with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Jakovlev closes the distance but Engineer moves to the side
and Engineer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


It looks like Petr Jakovlev has been cut.
