Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Toshiro Montero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Louis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Montero comes to the cage accompanied by Danzig - Mother . Louis has chosen Stand up and Fight as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Toshiro Montero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Martin Louis!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montero circles away from the clinch attempt.
Montero looks to land a left hand but Louis moved out of range nicely.
Louis takes a swing at Montero's ribcage but misses.
Decent striking displayed by Montero there.
Montero looks to score with a jab to the body but Louis is just out of range.
Louis sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Montero connects with an inside leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Louis. Montero does a little dance to reset his feet.
Montero fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Louis looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Louis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Montero manages to avoid it.
Montero misses with a body shot.
Louis lands a nice shot to the body.
Louis keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Montero.
Toshiro Montero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Montero bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Montero shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Louis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Montero tries to free his leg and advance position but Louis is retaining full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Montero is looking to work some ground and pound but Louis has wrist control.
Louis keeping moving, preventing Montero from controlling successfully.

Montero is working hard here to advance position.
Montero looking to sit in guard and control but Louis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Montero wants to sweep here but Louis controlling him for the moment.
Louis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Montero is proving hard to escape from.

Montero throws his legs up looking for a submission but Louis uses it to pass to side control.
Montero is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Montero is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Louis off and has taken his back!
Louis just trying to survive but Montero is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Montero throwing wild punches that miss their target.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Louis trying to control the hands but Montero won't let him.
Louis prevents Montero from getting a body triangle.

Montero controlling well, preventing Louis from escaping the position.
Montero has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Will Montero go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Louis looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Montero is looking for the choke from the back position but Louis is controlling his hands well.
Louis trying to control the hands but Montero breaks the grip.
Montero lands with a hammerfist to the side of Louis's head.
Louis is covering up but some of the strikes from Montero are getting through and doing damage.
Montero misses with a punch to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Montero is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Louis won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Montero off his unconscious opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Toshiro Montero!
In his post fight interview, Toshiro Montero started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
