Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Junior Harris!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jonathan Paton and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perry goes for a double leg but Harris avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Harris continues to drive forward.
Harris content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Perry can't get the takedown.
Perry wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jodey Perry . That's going to take a lot out of him.

Harris pulls guard effortlessly.
Harris wants to sweep here but Perry controlling him for the moment.
Harris looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Harris pulls Perry in close to his closed guard and prevents Perry from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Junior Harris was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Perry fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Perry has been working on his balance at Morbid Conditioning School $600, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Harris.

Harris shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Perry has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Harris is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Perry .
Perry on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Perry tries to get out of the position.
Harris is staying tight to Perry 's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Harris working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Harris goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Perry rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Harris's guard! Nice work there by Perry !
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Harris wants to hit a switch here but Perry passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Harris there!

Perry tries to control but Harris wriggling away.

Perry doesn't have the hooks in and Harris manages to turn into his guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Harris wants to control from the top but Perry keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Junior Harris dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


The fighters circling - Harris throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Junior Harris is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Harris wants to clinch up but Perry keeps it at a distance.
Harris misses with a jab, cross combination.
Perry misses with a takedown

and Harris counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Harris.

Harris jumps guard.
Perry trying to control but Harris is working from the bottom.
Harris is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jodey Perry .
Perry misses with a takedown attempt - Harris sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Harris changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Perry looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Perry avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Harris.

Harris is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Perry has escaped the position, nice work there.
Harris controlling the position from side mount.

Harris goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Perry rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Harris's guard! Nice work there by Perry !

Harris looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Junior Harris hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Perry fails with the takedown
and Harris counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jodey Perry . That's going to take a lot out of him.

Harris feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Harris working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Harris wants to control for a moment but Perry uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Harris is trying to control the action in half guard but Perry is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
It looks like Harris is going to stand back up.
Harris controlling the action here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Junior Harris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Harris landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Harris ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Harris no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Harris is on top in guard.

Harris trying to control but Perry is working from the bottom.
Harris is looking to work some ground and pound but Perry has wrist control.
Harris content to stall in guard here.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Let's hope that Harris has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Junior Harris hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Harris closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Perry did well to prevent Harris getting side control.
Perry is not content to let Harris control the position.

Harris maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Perry could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Harris has cracked it and Perry is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Harris!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Junior Harris!
