Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mauricio Farley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jammy Jammy Jammy!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Joseph Jones and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jammy Jammy drives through with a takedown into guard.
Farley could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Farley preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Jammy Jammy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Farley working for a triangle but Jammy Jammy defends it easily.

Farley is looking for a triangle but Jammy Jammy pushes his legs off easily.

Farley working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jammy Jammy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jammy Jammy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Farley might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Farley is looking for a triangle here but Jammy Jammy uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Jammy Jammy tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Jammy Jammy might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Farley haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Jammy Jammy shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Farley napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Farley gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Jammy Jammy wants to stand up but Farley has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Jammy Jammy is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Farley looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Jammy Jammy thows a huge punch but Farley dodges it nicely.

Farley trying to hold on to Jammy Jammy's head to control him but Jammy Jammy postures up.

Jammy Jammy seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Farley looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Farley is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jammy Jammy pulls his head out easily.

Jammy Jammy is trying to control the action in half guard but Farley is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Jammy Jammy wants to get back to his feet.
Farley makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Farley.

Jammy Jammy is looking to work some ground and pound but Farley has wrist control.
Jammy Jammy wanted to stand there but Farley had control of the position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jammy Jammy Jammy wasn't active enough on the ground.
Jammy Jammy tries to land a front kick but Farley steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Jammy Jammy darts in and clinches Farley up against the cage.
Farley drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jammy Jammy pulls his leg out and moves away.

Jammy Jammy clinches with his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jammy Jammy Jammy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Farley swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Jammy Jammy gets the takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jammy Jammy trying to control the action but Farley is working from the bottom.
Farley tries to bench press Jammy Jammy off him but Jammy Jammy keeps the position.

Jammy Jammy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Farley keeps working.
Farley tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Jammy Jammy Jammy has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Farley takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Jammy Jammy forces Farley back against the cage and clinches.
Jammy Jammy looking to stall.
Farley lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Jammy Jammy backwards.

Farley gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Jammy Jammy pushes Farley off looking to stand but Farley dives back in and keeps control.

Farley seems to be working for a kimura but Jammy Jammy defends the submission attempt.
Farley working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Jammy Jammy is refusing to be controlled, as Farley sits in half guard.

Farley is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Farley landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Jammy Jammy is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Farley looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jammy Jammy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Farley takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Jammy Jammy gets full guard.
Jammy Jammy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Farley lands a couple of digs.
Farley postures up.

Jammy Jammy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Farley defends well.
Farley wants to pass the guard but Jammy Jammy is keeping the position.

Farley stands and steps away. Jammy Jammy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Mauricio Farley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jammy Jammy Jammy is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Farley gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jammy Jammy to score an easy takedown into full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mauricio Farley.
Well Jammy Jammy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
